Party Bingo

Want to make your next party a little bit different, and a lot more fun? Why not gather all your friends together and make it a bingo party?

It's Easy to Throw a Bingo Party

Throwing a bingo party doesn't require investing in a lot of expensive equiptment. Complete party bingo sets can be found at most toy stores or over the Internet.

A typical party bingo set includes everything you need to make your bingo party a success:

  • 75 or 90 numbered bingo balls, depending on which type of bingo you want to play
  • A bingo cage. This is typically a wire cage into which the bingo balls are placed, with a handle to spin the cage around and "shuffle" the balls to ensure random picks.
  • Bingo cards. Make sure you have enough bingo cards for all your guests. You can always buy more bingo cards in packs of 50 or 100.
  • Marker chips. When you play bingo at home, it is better to have the players mark their bingo cards with chips than with a pen or dauber. That way, you can reuse the cards at your next bingo party.
  • Master bingo board. This is usually a plastic board with little indentations into which you can place each bingo ball after it is called.

Make Your Own Party Bingo Set

If you are even a little bit creative, you may choose to make your own party bingo set instead of going out and buying one. It's really not hard. Instead of bingo balls, you can write the bingo numbers with a marker on squares of cardboard. And instead of a cage, you can put all the bingo numbers in a big bowl and mix them up. For markers, you can use buttons or paper clips or anything else you have in sufficient quantity around the house. Bingo cards with randomly placed numbers can be printed out from various bingo Internet sites.

You can keep everything simple if you want to, or you can decorate your bingo-number squares and your bingo cards to add a personal artistic touch to your bingo set. You can decorate with paint or colored markers, or with glitter or stick-on stars. Give your inner artist free rein, and you can make your party bingo set something special.

    Have Fun Playing Party Bingo

Once you have all your equipment in place, and all your guests assembled, it is time to start having fun playing party bingo. Make sure there are plenty of snacks and drinks available. And talking is always permitted during a game of party bingo. Laughing is permitted also, and even encouraged. Party bingo is not meant to be a serious game.

Once you start playing, you will be surprised at how much fun a bingo party can be. Even supposedly serious adults will quickly lose their inhibitions and catch the excitement. As your guests get three away, then two away, then one away from Bingo, they will be screaming for their number to be called. Finally, when someone hits Bingo!, the whole room will be squealing with delight for the winner.

    Party Bingo Prizes

Winning prizes is not the main idea of party bingo. Getting together and having a good time is the main idea. Still, awarding a small prize to the winner of the party bingo game does add to the fun of the bingo party. It needn't be anything expensive. Something like a coffee mug, or even a chocolate bar, can be a nice bingo prize. Just use your imagination, and have fun at your next bingo party!
